With every sound that echoed in the castle, she flinched, every footstep that came close to the door had her shutting her eyes tight and hoping no one would take notice of her. When he had brought her back to the castle, he looked like death and she was too scared to talk to him. He had left her alone after that and she had not seen him since. Now it was morning and she had no idea what to do. She could not run, neither could she hide, so she curled up into a ball, wishing she could disappear.

“Olivia… Olivia” the door opened slowly.

She sat up eagerly and was swallowed into a big warm hug, courtesy of Isra. The demon patted her head affectionately.

“You’re getting married to the king! How exciting is that? Sadly that king is Lucian, still,you get to be queen and have little demon babies and-“

Somewhere between her chattering, Olivia zoned out.

She was already pregnant. In the chaos of her kidnapping and all the tension from keeping her secret, she had never thought to tell Lucian they were having a child and now he hated her.

“What’s the matter? Lucian’s a brute but surely, he’s not that bad. The handsome devil is a little puppy when it comes to you. Plus, he’s great in bed. I’ve not had better sex from anyone else. The minute he found you, he wanted nothing to do with this body.” She pointed at herself

“You do have a great body and you are a sight for sore eyes, and he would be crazy to not be obsessed with you. I’m sure he’ll be so excited to have little demons running around”
